Before starting the program, I was discouraged and overwhelmed by shame regarding the mess that I had gotten myself into. I would shop, mostly because I was hurting, but the momentary feeling of comfort did not last and created chaos in my life.

My sister told me about Love INC and I started in February of 2022. I knew I needed help! I was $40,000 in debt. I had a good job but was unable to save anything.

I’ll be honest, it was not easy doing the work. So many times, I felt like giving up, because I was so overwhelmed. Yet, God was very real and gave me strength to keep going, one week at a time.

I received a settlement from my divorce and was able to pay off $30,000 of debt. By October I paid off the other $10,000. With advice from my Love INC budget counselor, I was able to buy my first home as a single woman.

The New Hope Program is not for wimps, but it’s worth sticking with it for the freedom you feel on the other side. It’s been a while since I was proud of myself for doing something that I desperately needed. I appreciate so much that Love INC always puts God as the center of what they teach and help us learn. I am grateful to Love INC, and the Lord, because they have helped me find hope again.
