Mission in Motion: Church at 3:00

Every afternoon at 3:00, something special happens at the New Hope Community.

The kids go to church.

Not because anyone told them to.
Not because it’s part of a program.
But because they wanted to.

In a grassy, sloped retention pond on the property, they’ve created their own sanctuary—carefully arranging seating, complete with handmade crosses at the ends of each “pew.” There’s a pulpit for the pastor (one of the boys in the group), a worship band made up of their friends, and someone assigned to read Scripture.

They even take an offering.

And like any church, they’ve thought about everyone who attends. There’s a children’s section, too, where a younger sibling might be gently guided to sit when needed.

They meet every day.

At 3:00.

They’ve even invited their parents to join them from time to time.

Of course, like many churches, they’ve had to navigate a few challenges. At times, rain has flooded their gathering space, forcing them to relocate. And every now and then, their “sanctuary” is interrupted by the hum of a lawn mower passing through.

But they adapt. They rebuild. They keep going.

Because to them, this matters.

Recently, one of the girls took things a step further. She made lip balm and brought it to the office to sell, raising money to support their “startup church.” She also asked if there were any service projects their church could take on to serve the New Hope Community.

Not only are they gathering—they’re thinking about how to give back.

It’s a small picture of something much bigger.

A reminder that faith is not just taught—it’s caught. That when children are surrounded by love, community, and a living example of faith, they begin to reflect it in ways all their own.

This is Mission in Motion—when even the youngest among us are stepping into faith, community, and purpose.

And it’s happening every day at 3:00.
